- Is the medium known for its neutrality and not being bias towards certain entities ?
- Is the medium legal responsibility for its publications ?
- Is there a way to report on misleading and false information ?
- • Are there any indicators that the medium is facing challenges to its level of seriousness according to the answers to these questions, and the use of proper verification tools, and sites, the monitors can evaluate the level of responsibility and seriousness the medium got
Sources verification standards :
- Does the source have the professional qualification to be a reliable source ?
- Was the source ever found to publish misleading or false information in the past ?
- Does the source have any written for vocal publication of adequate quality ?
- Does the source deal and publish for a serious and responsible media outlet ?
- Are there any indicators that the medium is facing challenges to its level of trustworthiness ?
Verification of allegations standards :
- Note: an allegation becomes news when proven true, or else it remains as misinformation
- Is the allegation serious, or is it a point of view or a farce ?
- Was the pretense of falsehood discovered in the past ?
- Is the allegation exciting and exaggerated ? (Clickbait)
- Does the allegation text contain errors (numbers or language) ?
- If the claim is based on material with pictures or videos, has it been corrupted or tampered with ?
- Are there any other indicators that could challenge the validity of the allegation? (According to the answers to these questions and the use of appropriate verification tools and sites, monitors can assess the integrity of the allegations ?
