Has the decision to establish a research center for meteorites and space science been issued in the city of Zintan?

Facebook pages circulated the following allegation:

Dr. Omran Al-Qayeb, Minister of Higher Education in the Government of Dbeibeh,
decides to establish a center for research and studies of meteorites and space affiliated
with Zintan University and based in Zintan.

Under No. 531 of 2023.

Many Fb pages published the allegation. The most prominent of which is "tk yahrek kol
shay" created on March 31, 2022. It is managed by 3 people residing in Libya and has
more than a million followers. The allegation received more than 4000 interactions, more
than 800 comments, and 7 shares.

Verification :

To investigate the veracity of the allegation, the team approached the official authority
authorized to publish such decisions. We scanned the FB page of the Ministry of Higher
Education and Scientific Research of the Government of National Unity. In one of its
posts on June 14, it clarified that the decision No. 531 that circulated on Facebook is not
true at all.
The Ministry added in another post that these accusations come in the second phase of
the fierce attack launched by these pages against the Ministry, with the aim of disrupting
its work.
Therefore, the allegation of approving the establishment of the Center for Research and
Studies of Meteorites and Space is false .
